Mara Simopoulou: Embryo and Endometrium in a Complex Relationship
Mara Simopoulou, Professor of Physiology-Clinical Embryology at National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, shared a post by Advanced Clinical Embryology Course on LinkedIn:
“There is a certain excitement about this week at the Advanced Clinical Embryology Course , where we keep tracing the fine, interwoven lines that connect every part of human reproduction — lines that link science, curiosity, and care.
I am especially grateful for Dr. Theodora Stasinou, MSc, FRCS (Urol), known for her clinical and academic focus in male infertility, Dr. Stasinou will lead this weeks first lecture on the evaluation and management of male factor infertility.
Next up, we are very privileged to welcome on the virtual floor Professor Theodoros Kalampokas , a distinguished academic and researcher will share his clinical and academic insight through his lecture on ovarian stimulation protocols in the era of personalized medicine. His expertise and dedication bring a valuable perspective to our understanding of female reproductive health.
Last but certainly not least, we are honored to host Professor Irene Souter, a trailblazer and leading voice in reproductive medicine will share her expertise by shedding light on the complex relationship between embryo and endometrium, reminding us of the delicate balance that underpins every beginning of life.
So much to learn, and so much to be inspired by.”

“This week at the Advanced Clinical Embryology Course, we keep connecting the dots and following the intricate lines of human reproduction — tracing the pathways that link science, clinical expertise, and discovery.
We begin by welcoming Dr. Theodora Stasinou, MSc, FRCS (Urol), Consultant Urological Surgeon and Andrologist at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. With deep experience in the field of male reproductive health, Dr. Stasinou will guide us through the ‘Evaluation and management of male infertility’, offering evidence-based insights and practical approaches.
Next, we are honored to host Professor Theodoros Kalampokas, Assistant Professor at the Medical School of Athens and leading IVF Specialist at the British Fertility Society. Professor Kalampokas will present ‘Ovarian stimulation in the era of personalized and precision medicine,’ exploring how individualized treatment strategies are shaping the next generation of IVF protocols.
Finally, we are privileged to welcome Professor Irene Souter, Associate Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Biology at Harvard Medical School. Through her lecture ‘Embryo and Endometrium: A complex relationship,’ Professor Souter will unravel the intricate dialogue between embryo and endometrium, offering new understanding of implantation dynamics and reproductive success.
This week’s lectures bridge the essential dimensions of human reproduction — male, female, and the delicate intersection between embryo and endometrium. The journey continues — stay curious!”
