Purabi Gunjal: Most Women Start Thinking about Fertility Too Late…
Purabi Gunjal, Women’s Health and Fertility Nutritionist, shared on LinkedIn:
“Most women start thinking about fertility too late.
Not because they don’t care.
Because we’ve taught them that fertility only matters when they’re trying to get pregnant.
I see it differently.
To me, fertility isn’t just about conception.
It’s one of the clearest reflections of a woman’s overall health.
Long before someone starts trying for a baby, the body is already sending signals.
- Irregular cycles
- Persistent fatigue
- Poor sleep
- Chronic stress
- Insulin resistance
- Changes in weight or energy that don’t quite make sense
These aren’t just isolated problems to deal with later.
They’re clues.
And they deserve attention.
This is why my conversations with women rarely begin with, ‘What are you eating?’
They begin with questions like:
- How are you sleeping?
- How stressed have you been lately?
- Do you have the energy to get through your day?
- Are you able to move your body consistently?
- How are you feeling emotionally?
Because I don’t start with fertility. I start with health.
Nutrition absolutely matters.
But so do sleep, movement, recovery, and emotional wellbeing.
That’s why my work isn’t about handing out restrictive meal plans or recommending endless supplements.
It’s about helping women build strong health foundations that support fertility and long-term wellbeing.
Whether they’re trying to conceive naturally, preparing for IVF/IUI, managing PMOS, or simply wanting to understand their bodies better.
Fertility isn’t something we should start thinking about only when we’re trying to conceive.
It’s one of the clearest reflections of our overall health.
Do you think women in India are encouraged to think about fertility early enough? I’d love to hear your perspective.”
