Endometriosis Does Not Mean You Cannot Have Children – Fertility Plus

“Endometriosis Does Not Mean You Cannot Have Children
Having endometriosis does not automatically mean that you cannot have children. A recent Finnish study followed 9,590 women with surgically confirmed endometriosis and found that overall, 54.1% had their first child after diagnosis!
Interestingly, the location of endometriosis makes a difference. Women with peritoneal endometriosis had the highest first-birth rate at 9.44 births per 100 person-years. Peritoneal endometriosis refers to lesions on the pelvic lining, rather than cysts on the ovaries.
While ovarian endometriosis had a lower birth rate, it’s essential to note that pregnancy is still possible. The study included births from both natural conception and fertility treatments like IVF.
