“5 Red Flags Before Trusting Your IVF Doctor as a fertility specialist, one of the most uncomfortable truths I’ve had to accept is this—not every IVF practice is driven by ethics. Over the years, I’ve met patients who came to me after being misled, overpromised, or pushed into treatments they didn’t fully understand. If you’re considering IVF, here are a few red flags I genuinely want you to be aware of:
1.‘100% IVF Success Guaranteed’ No doctor can promise this.
IVF success depends on:
- Age
- Egg and sperm quality
- Uterine health
Fixed results = major red flag
2.Repeated or Unrealistic Claims
If a clinic keeps repeating ‘guaranteed success’ in different ways—be cautious.
Science doesn’t work on promises
3. Advanced Lab Claims, No Transparency
Saying ‘state-of-the-art lab’ isn’t enough.
If they won’t show or explain their lab—
That’s a serious concern
4. No Dedicated Embryologist
IVF is not a one-person job.
Embryologist handles:
- Fertilisation
- Embryo growth
- Selection
Always check the full team
5. ‘We’ll Give You Twins’
Sounds tempting, but risky.
Twin pregnancies:
- Increase complications
- Aren’t always safe
