Abdelrahman H. Daifalla: The Embryo Is Not the Only Patient

Abdelrahman H. Daifalla, Medical Director and Consultant of IVF/ICSI at Queens Medical Center and Consultant in IVF and Reproductive Medicine at Gannah IVF Hospital, shared on LinkedIn:

“The Embryo Is Not the Only Patient.

For decades, IVF has been centered around one question:

‘How can we create a better embryo?’

But perhaps we’ve been asking an incomplete question.

An embryo never implants in isolation.

It enters a biological environment shaped by:

  • The uterus.
  • Hormones.
  • The immune system.
  • The psychological state of the couple.
  • Male reproductive health.
  • Laboratory quality.

A great embryo can fail in a poor environment.

An average embryo can succeed in an optimized one.

Perhaps the future of reproductive medicine is not about creating better embryos alone.

Perhaps it’s about understanding – and optimizing – the entire reproductive ecosystem.

Because the embryo is not the only patient.

It never was.

Optimize Before Fertilize.

Score – Optimize – Fertilize.

I’d love to hear your perspective.

What do you believe is the single most overlooked factor affecting IVF success today?
