Hormoz Nassiri Kigloo: How Endometriosis and Chronic Pain Shape Women’s Mental Wellbeing
Hormoz Nassiri Kigloo, Researcher at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper published in Journal of Affective Disorders:
“Our study, ‘Endometriosis, chronic pain, anxiety, and depression: A retrospective study among 12 million women,’ explores the relationship between endometriosis, chronic pain, and mental health outcomes on a population level.
We found that women with both chronic pain and endometriosis had significantly higher odds of experiencing anxiety and depression – highlighting the importance of integrated physical and mental health care for affected patients.
Many thanks to my supervisor Dr. Eva Suarthana, Dr. Tina C. Montreuil and Dr. Togas Tulandi”
