Fewer Preeclampsia Cases Reported With Closed-Loop Insulin Use in Type 1 Diabetic Pregnancies – Medical Xpress
Medical Xpress shared a post on LinkedIn:
“A recent randomized clinical trial across multiple centers in Canada and Australia found that pregnant women with type 1 diabetes using a closed-loop insulin system spent significantly more time within the recommended glucose range compared to those receiving standard care. The closed-loop group also experienced lower glycemic variability, fewer hypoglycemic events, and reduced HbA1c levels. While rates of cesarean delivery and preterm birth were similar, fewer cases of preeclampsia and shoulder dystocia were observed. These results support the use of closed-loop insulin systems to improve glycemic control during pregnancy in type 1 diabetes.”
