Optimal Endometrial Thickness Up to 12 mm Boosts Live Birth Rates in IVF – Fertility Plus

Fertility Plus shared a post on LinkedIn:

“In IVF cycles, the thickness of the endometrial lining plays a crucial role in successful implantation. Research shows that as the lining increases from less than 6 mm to around 12 mm, live birth rates improve significantly:

  • 31% success rate for <6 mm
  • 34% for 6–6.9 mm
  • 39% for 7–7.9 mm
  • Up to 41% for 10–11.9 mm

After reaching 12 mm, the rates plateau, indicating an optimal range for implantation. Ensuring adequate endometrial thickness is vital for enhancing the chances of a successful pregnancy.

Gingold JA, Wu H, Lieman H, Singh M, Jindal S. ‘Increasing endometrial thickness up to 12 mm is associated with increased odds of live birth among fresh and frozen-thawed autologous transfers with or without preimplantation genetic testing.’ Fertil Steril. 2025 Apr 28. doi:10.1016/j.fertnstert.2025.04.032.”
