“Sometimes, the hardest part of loving someone is learning how to let go. Read this heartfelt story of love, loss, and the struggle to move on.
‘I promised to buy my dad a new phone for his upcoming birthday.
The very next morning… he passed away without warning.
He wasn’t the kind of father to say ‘I love you’ out loud.
Instead, he left a five-peso coin in my palm every single morning before work.
When I crashed my bike as a little girl, he didn’t rush over to help.
He just stood back… waiting for me to learn how to stand on my own.
Because of him, I became strong.
But nothing prepares you for the absolute silence when they’re gone.
A medical condition that makes it hard to conceive—PCOS—delayed my journey to motherhood.
So my dad died before he could ever meet the grandchild we both prayed for.
How do you ‘unlove’ the person who taught you how to be brave?
You don’t.
True grief isn’t about moving on and forgetting.
It’s about carrying their unspoken love forward to a generation they will never meet.
My father never got the chance to hold my baby.
