Renate van der Molen: Stem Cell Therapy for Brain Damage in Premature Birth
Renate van der Molen, Associate Professor and Laboratory Specialist Medical Immunology at Radboudumc, shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper by Ezgi Sengun et al published on Nature:
“!! Great news item on the latest publication of Ezgi Sengun on how mesenchymal stem cells can switch off major ‘alarm pathways’ of T cells to control inflammation. This work is part of the PREMSTEM consortium aimed at developing a new regenerative stem cell therapy to repair the brain damage caused by premature birth.”
Title: Mesenchymal stem cells suppress NF-κB and ERK signalling while enhancing chemotaxis in CD4+ T cells
Authors: Ezgi Sengun, Janeri Fröberg, Xuehui He, Marc Eleveld, Ruben L. Smeets, Hans J. P. M. Koenen, Katja Möller-Hackbarth, Tim G. A. M. Wolfs, Daan R. M. G. Ophelders, Martijn A. Huynen, Marien I. de Jonge and Renate G. van der Molen.
