Empowering Change: Health Systems at the Forefront of Ending FGM/C! – FIGO
FIGO (International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“On Monday, Director of FIGO Division of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Wellbeing, Dr Aparna Sridhar, represented FIGO at CSW70 during the panel on ‘Integrating FGM/C into Health Systems.’ A vital discussion on how health systems can drive the end of FGM/C through prevention, provider education, survivor-centered care and collaboration across sectors.
As Dr Sridhar shared ‘These discussions reinforce that ending FGM requires not only advocacy, but strong, responsive health systems equipped to deliver equitable and compassionate care.’
Thank you to Orchid Project and The Girl Generation for leading this critical dialogue. We look forward to continuing our work in strengthening health systems and advocating for the health, rights and dignity of women and girls worldwide.”
