How Hyaluronic Acid Medium Improves Live Birth Rate? – RBMO
Reproductive BioMedicine Online (RBMO) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“This new RCT from Kenji Ezoe and a team across Kato Ladies Clinic and University of Melbourne, suggests that combined treatment with hyaluronic acid and PRL is effective for improving the live birth rate in good-prognosis patients by reducing early pregnancy loss.
In the trial, combined prolactin and hyaluronic-acid-enriched medium (EGP) was used for single frozen embryo transfers.
The study found:
- The live birth rate was higher in the EGP group compared with the control group and hyaluronic acid group.
- The ongoing pregnancy rate was higher in the EGP group compared with the control group and hyaluronic acid group.
- Early pregnancy loss was lower in the EGP group compared with the control group and hyaluronic acid group.
- Adverse events such as miscarriage and stillbirth were comparable between groups.
This study demonstrates the effectiveness and safety of hyaluronic acid supplemented with PRL in enhancing the live birth rate by mitigating early pregnancy loss; particularly relevant for cases with fast-growing blastocysts and cases with insufficient serum progesterone.
