SMFM Launches Cross-Disciplinary Cardio-Obstetrics Training for Fellows – SMFM
The Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Caring for pregnant patients with cardiovascular disease requires knowledge that spans two specialties – and effective care depends on both teams understanding each other’s clinical world.
Module 2 of the Cardio-Obstetrics: Fundamentals for Fellows curriculum was built with that in mind. The Cross-Disciplinary Fundamentals module addresses the knowledge gap directly, with two dedicated segments:
Module 2A: OB 101 for the Cardiologist – cardiac fellows learn the language, care team structure, and clinical decision-making framework of obstetric medicine.
Module 2B: Cardiology 101 for the MFM – MFM fellows build a working foundation in cardiac anatomy, ECG interpretation, cardiovascular medications, and the cardiac conditions most commonly encountered in pregnancy.
The full eight-module program is free and asynchronous, available now to all cardiovascular and MFM fellows at no cost.
