“Unlocking the mystery of your AMH number!
Ever wondered where your AMH number actually comes from? Let’s break it down!
Our six-panel diagram tracks a follicle from its resting stage to maturity. The journey includes:
- Resting
- Waking
- Growing with support layers
- Developing a fluid pocket (2 to 6 mm)
- Almost ready to release an egg
- And finally, regressing below the line
The teal curve shows how much AMH each follicle produces as it grows. It starts low, climbs steeply during the preantral and small antral stages (the AMH-productive window), and then drops off after reaching about 8 mm.
Remember, only follicles within this window contribute to your blood test results!
