Andrea Etrusco: Rethinking Hormone Add-Ons for Poor Ovarian Response
Andrea Etrusco, Reproductive Medicine Fellow at Cliniques universitaires Saint-Luc, shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper published in the Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics:
“Hormone add-on strategies in poor ovarian response: which one really works?
In our new paper published in the Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics, we conducted a systematic review and network meta-analysis of 22 randomized controlled trials including more than 4100 women with poor ovarian response (POR, Bologna criteria).
No single add-on can yet be recommended as standard, and that decisions should be individualized, balancing biological plausibility, patient characteristics, and cost-effectiveness.
What we truly need are well-designed, high-quality RCTs to clarify which patients, if any, might benefit from specific interventions.”
