Antonio Mercorio: Efficacy of Dual Triggering in Poor Ovarian Responders
Antonio Mercorio, OBGYN specialist at Foch Hospital, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Pleased to share our latest publication in the Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics:
‘Efficacy of dual triggering in poor ovarian responders defined according to Bologna and POSEIDON criteria: a systematic review and meta-analysis.’
By synthesizing the available evidence, we sought to clarify the clinical relevance of dual triggering in poor ovarian responders.
Dual triggering appears to improve oocyte yield and maturity in Bologna-defined patients; however, this benefit does not extend uniformly across all phenotypes. Persistent heterogeneity in responder definitions remains a major limitation, underscoring the need for more precise phenotypic stratification.
These findings call for well-designed prospective studies focusing on clearly defined subgroups to determine which patients truly benefit from dual triggering.
In a field where individualized ovarian stimulation is central, refining patient selection remains essential.”
