Laura Conversa Martinez: Blastocyst Dynamics Reflect Embryo Viability
Laura Conversa Martinez, Predoctoral Researcher at IVI RMA, shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper published in Fertility and Sterility:
“Our new paper is already out!
‘Post-warming re-expansion and contraction dynamics of vitrified blastocysts: shrinkage magnitude and timing are correlated with pregnancy outcome’
In this study, we explored how blastocyst behaviour after warming, particularly re-expansion and contraction patterns, correlates with implantation and live birth outcomes.
We distinguished between pre-re-expansion contractions, and mid-re-expansion ‘pumping’ and ‘collapse’ events, uncovering how each relates differently to embryo viability.
These findings highlight the value of post-warming dynamics as key indicators of embryo competence, potentially improving AI-assisted selection and overall IVF success.”
