Timed Intercourse and Fertile Window Monitoring: What the Data Shows – Fertility Plus

Fertility Plus shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Stop Stressing Over TSI (Times SI : The Real Truth About Trying to Conceive!

If you’ve been warned that tracking your ovulation will ruin your mental health, it’s time to rethink that advice. A 12-month study found that the method you use to time intercourse—whether closely monitoring your fertile window or having sex every other day—doesn’t significantly impact stress levels.

Interestingly, overall stress levels dipped slightly at the 6-month mark before returning to baseline by the end of the year, regardless of timing strategy. However, the emotional toll comes from the duration of trying, not the timing method. Couples reported increasing levels of depression over the year, and sexual functioning took a hit for both partners.

The bottom line? There is no ‘perfect’ schedule to protect your well-being. Choose what feels right for you, and don’t overlook the emotional weight of this journey. Seek preconception counseling and prioritize your mental health early on.
