Future of IVF Lies in Prediction, Communication, and Support – RBMO

Reproductive BioMedicine Online (RBMO) shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper by Alberto Vaiarelli et al. published in RBMO:

“In this new Commentary article, Alberto Vaiarelli and colleagues make a case for the future of the multi-cycle approach in IVF resting on three essential pillars: the ability to predict, to explain, and to support.

Their paper argues that the integration of advanced predictive models and artificial intelligence will enable personalized therapeutic strategies and optimized timelines, while clear and empathetic communication will help patients fully understand their treatment journey and potential outcomes. Tailored psychological support and counselling for couples will be crucial to guide decision-making, cope with failures, navigate challenges, and reduce treatment discontinuation, thereby enhancing both treatment efficacy and patient well-being throughout the ART journey.

Their vision for a multi-cycle approach represents a significant advancement in ART, aiming to optimize the number of oocytes or embryos retrieved, improve cumulative live birth rates per couple, and reduce time to pregnancy.

All our Commentary articles are made free to read – find it in May issue, 52.5 ahead of issue publication, now.”
