Maeva Olive: Infertility Is Not Only an Intimate or Compassionate Subject It’s a Performance Issue
Collectif BAMP Association shared a post by A bout de Taf on LinkedIn:
“Infertility affects 3.3 million people (double the number at the level of the couple).
It is a public health issue, now recognized with the Fertility Plan, but also a challenge for companies. Infertility and ART have a huge impact in the workplace and it is time for companies to take advantage of them.
Maeva Olive, a volunteer with the Collective, talks about it in the A bout de Taf interview with Laure Girardot
If you are a manager, HR, or business leader, contact us for support on this subject!”
Quoting A bout de Taf’s post:
“‘Fertility plan’, public health… And a blind spot in business?
Since the announcement of the fertility plan led by Emmanuel Macron, (and the ‘letter controversy’) the subject has moved out of the strictly intimate sphere to become a public health issue.
Prevention, diagnosis, information: the framework is moving forward! But on the business side, there is a discrepancy according to the 2025 study launched by the Collectif BAMP Association:
- 80% of employers consider the subject important… → but only 35% act, and 5% have structured measures
- 41% of the employees concerned have considered leaving due to a lack of support
- 60% use RTT or leave for their care
- 78% cite a significant impact on their mental health
Translation? A health issue becomes a subject of disengagement, or even a drain of talent.
In the Grand entretien of the week, Maeva Olive (BAMP collective!) puts it this way: ‘Infertility is not only an intimate or compassionate subject. It’s a performance issue.’
What do the most advanced organizations do?
- Formalize a fertility/parenthood policy
- Training managers and HR
- Organising working time and teleworking
- Create spaces for discussion (ERG, referents, occupational medicine) Microsoft
Read it right here.”
