Sara Spiro: Celebrating the Stories Members Have Trusted With at Maven Clinic – Here Is Mine
Sara Spiro, Senior Manager and Value-Based Care Specialist at Maven Clinic, shared on LinkedIn:
“This week, we’re celebrating the stories members have trusted us with here at Maven Clinic.
As I get ready to sign off for maternity leave, here’s mine.
Morning sickness is a rite of passage in pregnancy.
Hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) is something else entirely: nausea that sticks around all nine months.
I have never been more thankful to have Maven’s providers in my corner; they’ve been a lifeline as I navigate this pregnancy.
- Our OBs helped me dial in my extensive regimen of nausea meds,
- a nutritionist found ways to sneak some protein into a diet that was 95% bagels,
- and a pediatric sleep consultant helped me get much-needed rest by coaching our family through toddler sleep challenges.
HG can feel isolating when everyone else’s nausea eases up, and yours doesn’t.
Having a team of Maven experts cheering me on and helping me advocate for myself made all the difference.
Now, at 38 weeks, I may still be queasy, but I have so much to be grateful for: a healthy baby arriving any day now, a thriving toddler ready to be a big brother, and the comfort of knowing Maven has my back through the postpartum and parenting adventure ahead.
Proud to be a member of the Maven Clinic team and play a small part in supporting our members through their own pregnancy journeys.”
Kate Ryder, Founder and CEO at Maven, shared this post, adding:
“Love this personal story from our team member Sara on HG and her Maven Moments.
Thank you for sharing and good luck in these final weeks!!”
