Maíra Casalechi: New Insights into Microbiome Dysbiosis and Endometriosis
Maíra Casalechi, Healthcare Researcher at Ospedale Policlinico di Milano, shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper published in Human Reproduction Open:
“I’m beyond excited to share our latest paper, just published in Human Reproduction Open: ‘Microbiome dysbiosis and endometriosis: a systematic scoping review of current literature and knowledge gaps.’
Our review shows that, although several studies have tried to identify a microbiome profile linked to endometriosis, no clear pattern has been found. What’s even more concerning is that many studies are often overlooking important confounders. This makes it extremely challenging to interpret the vast and complex data of the microbiome and limits the potential impact of this research.
Our work highlights the current state of research and provides insights to guide future studies, helping to make results more robust and applicable.
Are you working on the microbiome or endometriosis? Or just interested in this field? This paper is a must-read.
A BIG thank you to the whole team for their great work and collaboration: Federica Facciotti, Paola Maragno, Claudia Ferraro, Giorgia Di Stefano, Dhouha Dridi, Paolo Vercellini, Paola Viganò, Edgardo Somigliana”
