Meletios Nigdelis։ Addressing the Global Decline in Fertility Rates
Meletios Nigdelis, Junior Attending in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Saarland University Medical Center, shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper he co-authored with colleagues published in the International Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics։
“Honored to be a co-author of the joint Scientific Statement of the International Federation of Fertility Societies (IFFS) and the International Society of Andrology (ISA), now published in Andrology, addressing the global decline in fertility rates and the urgent need to prioritize reproductive health research and care.
Contributing to an international statement of this scope is a privilege, and it would not have been possible without the people who opened these doors for me. My sincere gratitude goes to Professor Dimitrios G. Goulis, Professor Peter Liu, and Professor Giovanni Corona for their generous mentoring within the ISA – for their guidance, trust, and the example they set as scientists and clinicians.
Declining fertility is not only a demographic statistic; it is a call to action for medicine, research, and policy alike. I am glad to see two leading societies join forces on this, and grateful to be part of the effort.
You can find the double publication in the International Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics (IJGO) and Andrology below․”
Title: Building families – Implementing balanced sexual and reproductive health.
Authors: Peter Y. Liu, Edgar Mocanu, Linda Giudice, Marcos Horton, Meletios P. Nigdelis, Antti Perheentupa, Andrea Sansone, Giovanni Corona, Luca Gianaroli, Dimitrios G. Goulis.
