Nicolas Gatimel: New Guidelines Revolutionize Spermocytogram Practices
Nicolas Gatimel, Professor at Universities of Hospital Practitioner (PUPH), Medical Assistance in Reproduction, Toulouse University Hospital, shared a post on LinkedIn about paper published in Andrology:
“An important step for our discipline!
After 4 years of work and the rigorous analysis of +160 publications according to a PICO and narrative methodology, I have the great pleasure to announce the publication of the new recommendations on the spermocytogram, developed within the BLEFCO working group that I had the pleasure of coordinating.
This project brought together expert biologists from the public and private sectors, committed to strengthening the quality of our practices.
A sincere thank you to the entire group (names below), with a special mention for Anne-laure Barbotin and Bruno Perreira for their exceptional contribution
- Our specialty suffers from a lack of evidence-based practices.
- It was time to update, dust off and simplify this test in the light of the most robust scientific data.
The aim is to make the spermocytogram more relevant and adapted to the current challenges of reproductive biology during the exploration of infertile men and before medically assisted procreation.
I am very proud of this great collaboration and this collective progress for our profession
