AI’s Growing Role in Assessing Oocyte Quality Assessment – RBMO
Reproductive BioMedicine Online (RBMO) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Significant advances have been made with regards to quantifying the viability of the preimplantation stage human embryo, through the analysis of morphokinetics, quantification of biomarkers, and trophectoderm biopsy to facilitate PGT. However, we still have limited capacity to determine the inherent potential of gametes.
In this new Commentary, David Gardner, Helen O’Neill, Basak Balaban, Marcos Meseguer Escrivá, Thomas Freour, and Laura Rienzi discuss the developments in AI, media analysis and microscopies to assess metabolic state, which could provide valuable insights into oocyte health, thereby increasing our ability to not only improve oocyte health and selection but also provide a much-needed tool to assist in optimising ovarian stimulation.
All our Commentaries are made free to read – find it in our April issue, ahead of publication, now.”
