ART and Congenital Anomalies Separating Risk Factors from Assumptions – RBMO
Reproductive BioMedicine Online (RBMO) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“From our January issue, this Review article provides a comprehensive point-by-point assessment of congenital anomalies risks associated with IVF and ART techniques, along with parental factors and an evaluation of major congenital anomaly categories according to the mode of conception.
Authors Johanna Vivard, Anthony Atallah, Emmanuelle Amar, Bruno Salle Leyris de Campredon, Mehdi Benchaib, Elsa Labrune, and Eloïse Fraison conclude that while there is growing evidence suggesting heightened risk of congenital anomalies in association with infertility and ART, the current literature is limited by heterogeneous methodologies, variable classification systems, inconsistent follow-up periods and non-standardized control groups.
Published open access, you can read the review in full from issue 52.1″
