William Akakpo: Reflections from the 30th FFER Days in Strasbourg
William Akakpo, Chirurgien Urologue – Andrologue at Groupe Hospitalier Privé Ambroise Paré – Hartmann, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“A highlight dedicated to Urology during the 30th FFER Days from September 24 to 26, 2025, in Strasbourg, where we discussed the management of repeated testicular sampling with Dr. Chelghaf of the Nantes University Hospital.
We emphasized several key points:
- The importance of a true reassessment of the case and not simply a repetition of the procedure
- The need for maximum patient optimization, particularly with the increasing role of hormonal treatments and the continuing importance of treating an underlying clinical varicocele
- The adverse situations where it is more appropriate not to repeat the procedure
This type of complex care, which we provide daily at the Ambroise Paré – Hartmann Private Hospital Group, requires close collaboration between urologists, gynecologists, reproductive biologists, radiologists, and more. This truly multidisciplinary approach serves the couple.
Thank you to the organizers for the invitation and to the participants for the rich discussions.”
