Before You Test Early… Read This – Fertility Plus
Fertility Plus shared post on LinkedIn:
“Trying to conceive? Here’s something to consider before reaching for that home pregnancy test too early!
Did you know that testing just 4 days before your expected period can lead to more confusion and emotional stress?
- What you gain: A mere 4-day head start on knowing if you’re pregnant.
- What you lose:
– A higher chance of false negatives (about 6 times more!). Imagine thinking you’re not pregnant, only to test positive later. Confusing, right?
– More biochemical losses (4 times more!), where a very early positive result disappears as the pregnancy doesn’t progress. Many wouldn’t even notice these if they simply waited.
Study highlights:
- 41% of people trying to conceive test very early.
- Only ~51% of those got consistent positives, while ~83% who waited saw all-positive results.
Bottom line: Waiting until your expected period usually brings clearer, less stressful results. Let that hormone build up for reliable detection!”
