“Can double embryo transfer (DET) with mosaic embryos be a reasonable option in IVF?
A recent study analyzed 38 DETs involving mosaic embryos and found an overall live birth rate of 60.5%! Notably, good-prognosis DETs had a striking twin live birth rate of 46.2%.
While mosaic/mosaic and euploid/mosaic DETs showed similar outcomes, it’s essential to be cautious. Avoid transferring two good-prognosis embryos and consider moderate/poor-prognosis mosaics only in selected cases. Robust counseling about twin risks is crucial!
