“What are the risks of D and C ?
Intrauterine synechiae after dilation and curettage (D and C) are rare, occurring in only 0.8% of cases, but the risk significantly increases with repeat procedures. A recent study highlights that the hazard of adhesions rises nearly fourfold after two D and Cs and over twelvefold after three or more. This emphasises the importance of cautious use of repeat procedures and tailored counseling for women at higher risk. Stay informed and consult with your healthcare provider!
