Mónica Faut: Subcutaneous Plus Vaginal Progesterone Improves Outcomes in Over 400 FET Cycles
Mónica Faut, Associate Editor at Reproduction and Fertility Journal, shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper by Chadi Yazbeck et al. published in Frontiers:
“After months of waiting, I’m thrilled to share the new publication led by Chadi Yazbeck, exploring whether ‘rescuing’ the luteal phase with extra progesterone can make a difference in hormone replacement therapy (HRT) frozen embryo transfer (FET) cycles.
What did the researchers find?
In over 400 FET cycles, adding subcutaneous progesterone increased live birth rates from 24.7% to 36.9%.
Why does it matter?
Inadequate progesterone before embryo transfer can reduce implantation chances. By combining vaginal and subcutaneous routes, the body can achieve more stable progesterone levels for a receptive endometrium.
This study highlights the importance of personalized medicine, adapting luteal support to each patient’s hormonal profile.

What do you think about personalized hormone support in IVF?
I’d love to hear your thoughts or experiences with progesterone monitoring in FET cycles.
Huge congratulations to the CMC Ambroise Paré / Pierre Cherest / Hartmann ART Group for this outstanding work.
I’m proud to have contributed as a Medical Writer on this project.”
