Paola Fasola: IBSA Symposium Highlights Progesterone’s Role in Personalised IVF Care
Paola Fasola, Senior Global Medical Affairs Manager of Fertility and Endocrinology at IBSA Group, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Progesterone in Practice: From Pathophysiology to Personalised Approaches in ART Protocols
At the 2026 Hartus Congress in Rome, the IBSA Global Reproductive Medicine Team organised a satellite symposium focusing on progesterone and luteal phase support as a critical combination for success in assisted reproductive technologies.
An important focus was placed on the need for continued research into the physiopathological mechanisms regulating progesterone activity in luteal support. A deeper understanding of these processes, such as progesterone receptors resistance, is essential to optimise treatment outcomes across diverse patient populations undergoing IVF, especially those affected by adenomyosis, where altered endometrial environment may influence progesterone responsiveness. Strengthening scientific commitment in this area remains crucial for advancing more precise and effective therapeutic strategies.
We extend our sincere thanks to the faculty Attilio Di Spiezio Sardo, Juan A. García Velasco, Nikolaos Polyzos and Pedro Melo for their valuable contributions to a discussion that continues to advance standards of care in reproductive medicine and to the many attendees participating to the symposium.
At IBSA Group we remain committed to progressing therapeutic solutions, supporting the ART community through continuous education, and promoting a long-term vision centred on patient-focused innovation.”
