“AJOG Expert Review in Cesarean: The Nausicaä suture in the management of the placenta accreta spectrum – The technical aspect of the Nausicaä suture
A, After delivery of the fetus from the uterine incision, PAS with marked neovascularization in the lower uterine corpus was observed. B, After removing the placenta, the thread was transfixed from the serosal side, penetrating into the uterine cavity and across the bleeding area horizontally, and emerged from the contralateral side of the serosa. A surgical tie was then made. Serial sutures were made parallel at a 1.5- to 2-cm distance until hemostasis was verified by direct inspection from the uterine incision. C, The lateral view of the Nausicaä suture. The thread did not stitch the anterior and posterior corpus together to prevent uterine synechiae.”
