Islam Badr: Delivering a Masterclass on Transperineal Ultrasound of the Female Pelvic Floor
Islam Badr, Fetal Medicine Consultant and Senior Clinical Fellow at Cairo University Fetal Medicine Unit, shared on LinkedIn:
“All the thanks to the Great God.
I have recently delivered a masterclass entitled ‘Transperineal Ultrasound of the Female Pelvic Floor’ at the International Association of Aesthetic and Urogynecology Fourth Annual Conference 2026 held in Cairo, Egypt, on 30 and 31st July 2026. I would like to thank Prof. Doaa Saleh for the invitation and congratulate her on the impressive success of the conference.
This is an extremely special moment for me because it comes ten years after I delivered the first-ever course on the national Egyptian level about the transperineal ultrasound of the female pelvic floor in 2016. I am so honored to see doctors who attended these events with me over the last ten years achieving marvelous skills, and I have to admit that most of them have exceeded my skills in this technique.
Female pelvic floor trauma should be a KPI for maternity services on the national level, and it should be used to audit the practice on a routine basis, and it will lead to marked improvement in the service. A goal that I will fight to achieve over the coming years, In Shaa Allah.”
