Neha K. Motwani: Designing Luma – What I Would Have Needed During My Fertility Journey
Neha K. Motwani, Founder of Luma Fertility, shared on LinkedIn։
“When we designed Luma, I had to ask myself: what would I have needed during my Fertility journey?
Not just a protocol. Not just a clinic that knew the science. I needed my cortisol managed. I needed someone to help me understand what food actually fuels fertility. I needed mental health support because this wasn’t a clinical problem I could think my way through.
Most clinics treat these things as fluff. Add-ons. Nice-to-haves for patients who can afford extras. They separate the medical from the mental from the nutritional and call it a day.
Here’s what we learned: that separation doesn’t match how the body works.
So we built nutrition and mental health directly into the clinical model at Luma. Not as an app. Not as a referral to someone outside. Built in. Integrated. Because the woman going through IVF is not separate from her stress levels. She’s not separate from what she’s eating. She’s not separate from her nervous system.
And when you treat her as a whole person instead of a collection of separate problems, the outcomes change. Better protocol compliance. Better emotional resilience. Better clinical results. Better everything.
That’s what we meant when we said we wanted everything in one place. Not just the clinic. Not just the app. Everything. The whole person. Because fertility care that doesn’t account for the whole person is just science without compassion, and science without compassion is incomplete.”
