Lucy Froese: The Hardest Part of IVF for Me
Lucy Froese, Fertility and IVF Coach, shared on LinkedIn:
“The practical side of IVF wasn’t the hardest part for me.
The injections, appointments, scans and medication all felt manageable.
I kept my treatment private from most people and fitted it around the rest of my life.
But what was harder was everything I carried into IVF with me.
- Three years of trying to get pregnant.
- Month after month of negative tests.
- The frustration of being told there was no obvious reason it wasn’t happening.
- The fear that I might never become a mum.
- And the pressure of knowing that IVF was now our best chance.
What made a difference was that I didn’t enter treatment trying to manage all of that alone.
I chose a clinic I trusted and felt comfortable with.
And I had emotional support before I started and throughout my cycle.
That gave me somewhere to take the fears I didn’t want to share with everyone else.
Someone to turn to when my thoughts began racing ahead.
And support through the moments when hope and fear existed side by side.
Looking back, one of the most important things I did was not waiting until I was overwhelmed to ask for help.
Yet emotional preparation is often the part women leave until last.
You research clinics.
Compare success rates.
Think about medication, supplements, and what you should be doing physically.
But who is helping you prepare for what treatment may ask of you emotionally?
You may not find the practical side of IVF difficult.
You may be able to attend every appointment, take every injection and continue with your life without many people knowing.
But that doesn’t mean you should have to carry the emotional side of it alone.
If you’re preparing for IVF, the time to put support around you isn’t when you’re already falling apart.
It’s before your cycle begins.
Book a free consultation with me to find out how I can help you enter treatment feeling calmer, supported and more emotionally equipped for what lies ahead.”
