Carmen Mair: 7 Fertility Signs I’d Pay Attention to Before Trying Next Month
Carmen Mair, Fertility Nutritionist, shared on LinkedIn:
“7 fertility signs I’d pay attention to before trying next month.
None of these signs means you won’t get pregnant. But several occurring together can tell you there may be useful questions to investigate.
- Your cycles are irregular – getting a monthly bleed does not automatically confirm consistent ovulation.
- Your luteal phase is consistently short – if your period repeatedly arrives soon after ovulation, it may be worth discussing with your practitioner.
- You spot for several days before your period – recurring premenstrual spotting can have several possible causes and deserves context.
- You rely on an LH test alone – an LH surge suggests your body is preparing to ovulate, but it does not prove ovulation occurred.
- You have very little fertile cervical mucus – this can make identifying your fertile window harder and may provide a clue about the hormonal environment.
- You are timing sex too late – the fertile window includes the days before ovulation, not just ovulation day itself.
- You are only investigating her fertility – sperm quality matters too. Fertility is a two-person equation. The goal isn’t to panic over one unusual cycle.
It’s to notice patterns.
If several of these are happening, don’t just keep adding supplements and hoping for the best. Start asking better questions about ovulation, cycle health and both partners’ reproductive health.
