Sachintha Alwis: From Impaired Sperm Motility to Microrobotics

Sachintha Alwis, Demonstrator at the Department of Biomedical Science at the Molecular Biology and Biochemistry Laboratories at the International Institute of Health Sciences (IIHS), shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper he co-authored with colleagues, published in the Middle East Fertility Society Journal:

“From impaired sperm motility to microrobotics.

Excited to share our recently published scoping review in the Middle East Fertility Society Journal, exploring sperm-driven microrobots (spermbots) and their emerging potential in reproductive medicine.

Honoured to be part of this work and grateful to all our supervisors and co-authors for their guidance and contributions throughout the study.

A fascinating intersection of reproductive medicine, microrobotics and biomedical science — opening new avenues for research in assisted reproduction.”
