Arsiak Vartenian։ I Thought Infertility Would End When I Became a Mother…
Arsiak Vartenian, Founder and Host of Smart Is The New Sexy, shared on LinkedIn:
“I thought infertility would end when I became a mother.
It didn’t.
For years, my life revolved around trying to have a baby. So I assumed that once I finally became a mother, that chapter would close.
But infertility followed me into motherhood.
It showed up in the way I worried.
In how hard it was to trust that good things would stay.
In double-checking my daughter’s breathing even when she was sleeping peacefully.
In the guilt I felt for still grieving when I finally had what I had prayed for.
Becoming a mother changed my life.
But it didn’t erase the years it took to get here.
And remembering doesn’t mean I haven’t moved forward.
Healing isn’t pretending they no longer matter.
It’s learning to carry what happened without letting it take away from what I have now.
Infertility is part of my story.
It just isn’t the whole story anymore.
P.S. Did infertility stay with you in ways you didn’t expect after becoming a parent?”
