Adrenal Involvement in Antiphospholipid Syndrome – ARP Rheumatology
ARP Rheumatology shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Adrenal involvement in antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) is rare but potentially fatal.
This case-based review highlights that APS-related adrenal failure may present atypically, leading to diagnostic delay – particularly in men. Awareness of this manifestation is essential, as early diagnosis and prompt initiation of anticoagulation and hormonal replacement significantly improve outcomes.
Key message: APS should be considered in patients with new-onset primary adrenal insufficiency, and adrenal involvement should be systematically evaluated in APS patients with compatible symptoms”
