Rethinking Soy for Women With Endometriosis – Fertility Plus
Fertility Plus shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Many women with endometriosis are told to avoid soy because it acts ‘like estrogen.’ But a large 30‑year study of 82,000+ women found the opposite! Each extra serving of soy per week was linked to about an 8% lower risk of laparoscopically confirmed endometriosis, particularly in women without infertility.
While this effect is modest and doesn’t prove that soy prevents the disease, it suggests that normal amounts of tofu, edamame, or soymilk are safe – and maybe slightly protective.
If you live with endometriosis, has soy been something you’ve worried about or avoided? Share your thoughts!
