Hugo Vankelecom: Innovative Organoid Models Transform Women’s Health Research
Hugo Vankelecom, Professor at University of Leuven, shared a post by organoid@KUL on LinkedIn:
“Indeed a very inspiring conference on this incredibly fast-evolving field of organoids and organ-on-chip (OoC) models and their powerful applications. I had the pleasure to present our research in women’s health including endometriosis, PCOS and infertility using our cutting-edge organoid models.”
Quoting organoid@KUL’s post:
“organoid@KUL on the road
Two inspiring and intense days at the WORD+2026 meeting in Cambridge! The event was packed with top‑notch research in organoid and organ-on-chip modelling, featuring regional showcases. Impressive contributions from both experts around the world made one thing very clear: this field is evolving at remarkable speed, helping to reduce reliance on animal models while providing human‑relevant models that can drive therapeutic innovation in today’s most challenging disease areas.
With a vibrant mix of academic groups, pharma representatives, and technology developers all exchanging insights and ideas it was the place to be for networking
Hugo Vankelecom and I (Frauke Christ) were proud to present our work in women’s health and chronic lung disease, and we returned to Leuven with new connections and plenty of food for thought.
Now we’re looking ahead to the organoid@KUL symposium… stay tuned for more updates, and be sure to mark 14–15 September in your calendars!”
