Paternal Impact on Embryo Morphokinetics and ART Success – RBMO
Reproductive BioMedicine Online shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper by Raneen Sawaid Kaiyal et al. published in RBMO:
“Despite growing evidence, the contribution of paternal factors to embryo morphokinetics and clinical outcomes in assisted reproductive technology (ART) has been largely overlooked.
In this new systematic review, authors Dr . Raneen Sawaid Kaiyal, Inshirah Zgayer, Inna Borik, Manal Abu Shqara, Michele Rubulotta, Sofia Markdorf, Hala Aslih, Ekaterina Shlush, Lior Lowenstein, and Rossella Cannarella highlight the significant influence of sperm characteristics on later-stage embryonic development as well as implantation and live birth.
Their findings link paternal sperm quality to embryo morphokinetics, underscore the importance of considering paternal factors in ART outcomes, and reinforce the necessity of comprehensive sperm assessments in ART, that may result pivotal in the clinical success of the procedure, by optimizing starting sperm quality and sperm selection techniques.
Published open access, the review can be read in full for free from our in-press articles section now”
