Aissatu Balde Camara: Happy to Share My First Article as First Author on Male Infertility
Aissatu Balde Camara, PHD Student at Université Paris-Saclay, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“I am very happy to share the publication of my first article as first author!
As part of my PhD research on male infertility, we report the case of a patient with non-obstructive azoospermia associated with a homozygous frameshift mutation in PIWIL1.
This work reinforces the idea that germline genome integrity, particularly through the PIWI/piRNA pathway, is essential for male fertility.
It also suggests that defects in genome defense mechanisms may represent an underexplored cause of infertility.
I would like to sincerely thank my supervisors and the entire team for their guidance and support throughout this project.
Article available here.”
