Amos Grünebaum: A 1920s Visit Schedule Still Guides Prenatal Care

Amos Grünebaum, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Prenatal care runs on a visit schedule invented in the 1920s, and we still call it the standard of care. Pregnancy risk does not keep appointments, and most preventable maternal deaths happen exactly where the schedule isn’t looking. I wrote about what should replace it: an integrated 24/7 system of monitoring, triage, and communication, and how to build it.”
