Aumatma Simmons։ Stop Treating Infertility as an Isolated Reproductive Problem
Aumatma Simmons, Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer at Madre Fertility, shared on LinkedIn:
“When fertility challenges aren’t fully explained by reproductive testing, it may be time to look beyond the ovaries and reproductive hormones.
The reproductive system is influenced by interconnected systems, including:
- Thyroid and metabolic function
- Gut and microbiome health
- Stress physiology
- Immune function
- Nutrient status and inflammation
Key Insight:
Infertility can be a signal that warrants a broader look at overall health – not simply a problem within the reproductive organs.
A comprehensive fertility evaluation asks not only, ‘What’s happening with reproduction?’ but also, ‘What else could be influencing it?’
How often do you expand your evaluation beyond reproductive hormones when standard testing doesn’t explain the fertility challenge?”
