Carmen Mair։ Low AMH Does Not Mean Your Fertility Is Over
Carmen Mair, Fertility Nutritionist, shared on LinkedIn:
“Low AMH does not mean your fertility is over.
If you were told your AMH is low and left the appointment feeling like a number had decided your future, there is an important distinction you need to understand.
AMH reflects ovarian reserve – not egg quality.
It can help predict how your ovaries may respond to IVF stimulation, but it does not directly tell you the quality of your eggs or give you a reliable prediction of your natural chance of conceiving this year.
So what can you actually focus on?
Not trying to ‘raise’ your AMH. Be very cautious of anyone promising that.
Instead, look at the factors that support overall reproductive health:
- Adequate nutrition and energy availability
- Metabolic health and blood sugar regulation where relevant
- Correcting genuine nutrient deficiencies
- Thyroid function when clinically indicated
- Ovulation and cycle health
- And importantly, male-factor assessment
Low AMH can be frightening, but fear is not a fertility treatment.
You don’t need to ignore the result. You need to put it in context.
AMH is one piece of your fertility picture – not a verdict on your ability to conceive.
Comment AMH, and I’ll send you my free Blood Work Guide so you know which markers may deserve attention and which numbers don’t deserve all your mental energy.
