Gautam Allahbadia: When Fertility Treatment Crosses Borders, the Questions Get More Complicated
Gautam Allahbadia, Consultant in Reproductive Medicine and Infertility at Allahbadia Fertility Clinic, shared on LinkedIn:
”When fertility treatment crosses borders, the questions can become more complicated than simply choosing where to continue your treatment.
For couples who have embryos stored in one country and later need treatment elsewhere, understanding how embryos are transported, what regulations apply, and whether the receiving clinic can accept them is an important part of planning ahead.
These decisions involve much more than logistics. They require coordination between fertility clinics, specialised transport providers and the regulations of the countries involved.
If you are considering moving your embryos internationally, discuss the process with your fertility specialist well in advance so you know what is possible for your specific situation.”
