Impact of Oocyte Maturity on IVF Success Rates – Fertility Plus
Fertility Plus shared a post on LinkedIn:
“A 2019 study revealed critical insights into the impact of oocyte maturity on IVF success rates.
The research indicated that a higher percentage of immature oocytes correlated with decreased fertilisation, reduced embryo development, and lower pregnancy and live birth rates after Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI).
This emphasises the importance of having a greater number of mature eggs in a retrieval cohort to enhance the likelihood of embryo formation and overall success in the IVF process. Understanding oocyte quality can significantly influence treatment outcomes for those undergoing fertility treatments.

High proportion of immature oocytes in a cohort reduces fertilization, embryo development, pregnancy and live birth rates following ICSI.”
