IVF Births Reach 219,885: A UK Fertility Milestone – HFEA
Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Around one child in every UK classroom is born from in vitro fertilisation (IVF), which is when fertility hormones are taken to stimulate egg production, before being collected and mixed with sperm, and then transferred back to the womb.
There have been 219,885 live births using IVF from 1991 to 2023.
Our dashboard is produced from data collected by licensed fertility clinics in the UK. You can explore HFEA data and find statistics on your own areas of interest.
